This is an image of me! This is my developer name banner

Hi there! You've stumbled upon my page, so welcome in!

My name is Luke Sargeant and I'm a videogame designer & developer.

This is my personal portfolio website I've coded myself in html. It displays my history of indie game projects and tells you all about my creative process. Put simply, I like making cool stuff! I love learning how to bring my ideas to life and work primarily in Unreal Engine 5 using Blueprints & C++. My end goal is to be a core mechanics designer iterating combat systems for cooperative horde shooters, and this creative direction is at the heart of all the gameplay programming & systems design work I spend my days doing. If I'm not coding, I'm drawing, planning, designing, tweaking or researching the next skill I require. I'm an inventor of virtual experiences, which you can explore from the links below:

A bit about me:

I'm 22 years old and based in Norwich, England. I'm super passionate about games and pride myself on being a very determined independent learner. If I set my mind on building something I'll leave no stone unturned figuring out how to achieve it, and this has served me especially well in the pursuit of advanced game development and programming.

My history of learning game development started with my four year BA Games Art & Design at Norwich University of the Arts, where in my foundation year I transitioned existing traditional fine art skills into producing digital concept art in ProCreate. Whilst pursuing concept art I began learning how to code game experiences using GDevelop and built my first game project "Chasing Cheddar" and in my first year I moved on to industry standard software and partaking in game jams, even making my wave shooter project Haunted! in Unreal Engine 5 using behaviour trees.

It was in my second year of study I worked on many more group projects, applying my skills in iterative mechanics design & gameplay programming along with knowledge of game design fundamentals & game design fundamentals to small, short term projects that were shared visions.
